1:1 Learning Support Teaching Assistant

Oakfield Preparatory School, West Dulwich

Salary: £13.50 PH

Hours: 15 hours a week, term time only (Fixed term contract)

Oakfield Preparatory School Dulwich, London, SE21 8HP

An Education Development Trust school for children aged 2-11 years.

Oakfield is a vibrant independent preparatory school in the heart of Dulwich. It is an exciting community where everyone feels valued and respected. Children are treated as individuals, nurtured and cared for - we stimulate high academic achievement by building self-esteem.

We are looking to appoint three committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to start as soon as possible. The role involves working 1:1 with a 3.5-year old pupil, with a moderate physical disability.

This role is ideal for a person who genuinely has a passion for helping children and who may have experience or an interest in helping children with additional needs. It is also a fantastic opportunity for those considering a career in teaching to gain valuable first-hand experience. The appointed candidate will receive support and training from the Head of Learning Success (SENDCO), the class teacher and will have the benefit of regular in-house training as well as the opportunity to attend relevant courses.

Hours: 15 hours per week spread over four or five days, based around the needs of the timetable.

Interviews to take place throughout October

Education Development Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults whom we work with and come into contact with around the world. All applicants are subject to thorough screening and for applicable roles, successful candidates are subject to relevant criminal record checks with national police authorities or the UK's Disclosure and Barring Service.
