This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a high performing finance function where the team are keen to learn and develop from an inspirational leader! Working as part of the senior management team within a shared services environment, this key role is accountable for the delivery of financial reporting and controls compliance across a number of group operating businesses.

Reporting to the Finance Director your remit will include the following:
  • Provide a 'best in class' financial reporting service to divisional finance teams ensuring timely and accurate reporting and controls to group reporting standards
  • Become the trusted business partner to the divisions, working with them to deliver continuous process improvement s
  • Lead and mentor your team (part-qualified and qualified) to improve technical and partnering skills, providing ongoing learning and development opportunities for them to advance their careers within the group
  • Work closely with internal and external advisor's (including auditors) to ensure statutory compliance to reporting standards
  • Liaise with the group tax function for accurate tax and VAT reporting to HMRC
  • Be an active member for projects delivery including systems implementation and development
  • Collaborate with the wider management team to drive a positive best practice culture across the shared services function

To be successful in this role we seek the following qualifications, skills and attributes:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent), ideally having trained in public practice, shared services or group finance functions
  • Great technical accounting skills and fully up to date with IFRS and ideally SOX compliance requirements
  • Excellent team leadership and development skills - someone who can engage with and inspire staff
  • High performance focus - able to meet demanding deadlines and constantly seeking ways to improve processes and procedures
  • Able to plan and organise effectively
  • Team focused but individually accountable
