MidKent College is at the heart of the education sector in Medway, Maidstone and the surrounding areas, and a College which Ofsted recognised as Good for overall effectiveness, in a November 2018 inspection.

As a progressive student-centred College, we are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our Executive Leadership Team and wider Senior Leadership Team to ensure that the achievement and experience of our students is outstanding. About You

The successful candidate will demonstrate dynamic and forward-thinking leadership, managing a team of experienced and focussed individuals who are dedicated to ensuring our students learn the academic and personal skills needed for the 21st century.

Naturally people-focussed, you will have the ability to build trust and confidence at all levels and gain the respect of staff based on your professionalism, openness and willingness to listen and engage. You will be keen to develop the staff reporting to you, as well as celebrating staff and student success. This will empower your team to not only make a significant difference to the students and communities that we serve, but to drive our College towards excellence.

You will be confident making decisions and driving through necessary changes. Our students, staff and stakeholders will see you as approachable, credible and passionate about the success of the College.

Details of the role

You will be key in supporting the Principal and CEO to ensure the College delivers an excellent experience for our students, and to continue to build a strong student-centred culture. This will include being the College nominee during future Ofsted inspections.

You will develop the teaching, learning and assessment strategies and underpinning Quality systems to be used across the College. This will be assessed by student success and progress, progression rates and student feedback.

Interviews will be held on 3rd and 4th November 2021.

Job Requirements

You will be educated to degree level, or equivalent, and hold a teaching qualification. We are also seeking a proactive and experienced individual with a proven track record of effective leadership in a mid-to-large GFE organisation, primarily serving 16-19 year olds with a broad curriculum offer.

You will also be experienced with managing a Quality department, either by enabling significant improvements in your area and/or through a cross College role, with the main experience being in the management of a curriculum area.
