Sales & Service Engineer / Representative wanted - Permanent, Nottinghamshire

EMBS Engineering has begun working in partnership with a well-renowned world leader, located in Nottingham that is experiencing considerable growth and as such, is looking to recruit an After Sales & Service Engineer, to join their business on a permanent basis.

Our client is a manufacturing and engineering business that carries a global footprint, operating within high profile market sectors, they supply customers across 100 countries with their diverse product portfolio.

With over 70 years of experience, they stand out from their competition due to their unique approach to design, development and delivery of engineering solutions.

This role has become available due to an internal promotion as the business is a huge advocate for training, development and progression.

This opportunity is exciting, challenging, diverse and offers individuals the chance to explore different engineering cultures and ethos. Although the role is office-based, there will be UK and Worldwide travel with overnight stays therefore candidates must be flexible with commuting / travelling. Of course - all expenses paid....and more.


Stability / Longevity - Permanent position (In 16 years since this position was conceived there has been only x3 people in the role, both of which have progressed within the business and are still employed today)
Competitive salary: £20,000 - £25,000 p.a depending on experience
All expenses paid for UK commuting and worldwide travel (even the opportunity to fly business class to certain countries)
Hours: 8am - 4.30pm / 8.30pm - 5pm

The position will suit ambitious individuals who possess the ability to communicate effectively, build rapport quickly and have an engineering mind that can quickly pick up technical mechanical / electrical processes.

The purpose of this role is to provide technical support and advice to external customers to minimise problems related to the companies services and products. You will become the "go-to" representative and be required to be involved in supporting after-sales enquiries, assisting in training and installation of key products and services whilst building strategic rapports and relationships with key customers.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to;

Respond to and record all technical pre-sale product enquiries within 24hrs
Support aftersales enquiries / issues
Assist the organisation with the delivery of a Company induction program for new recruits
Assist in the development and presentation of training programs for equipment and tooling
Ensure successful integration of technical information/data, to maintain a professional approach by customer focussed internal personnel
Attend exhibitions and accompany Account Managers/Agents on visits to customers in role of technical advisor, promoting Customer Support Group knowledge to end users and developing relationships to increase business opportunities.
Provide service for Warranty and Service Contracts
Promote and renew Service Contracts
Provide detailed written reports of contacts and visits to customers
Keep up to date with, and report on, competitor products
Help to identify new product opportunities through customer discussions

Successful applicants MUST be able to demonstrate:

Engineering recognised qualification - HNC / HND / Degree
Previous experience of working within a customer focussed position
Confident communicator with the ability to liaise and build rapport with all stakeholder levels, interpret the needs of customers and present technical feedback in a comprehensive manner
An eye for mechanical and/or electrical engineering
Experienced in dealing with technical specification and data within ideally an engineering environment
Consistent high level achiever (accademic or experience) who meets and exceeds expectations & objectives
Self motivator who is enthusiastic and positive in their approach to excellent customer experience
Organised and methodical with the ability to prioritise workload according to customer timeframes and targets
IT Literate - Microsoft packages
