A Large Public Sector Group are currently looking for a Business Analyst/Change Manager to join on an initial 6 month contract with a daily rate up to £400 per day Umbrella, site is based in London and will be 2 days a week in the office in the future.

A Business Analyst is required to assess the media monitoring requirements across the public sector Group. The Business Analyst will conduct a discovery exercise to identify the business needs for a modern media monitoring service which has digital provision at its core. It will also identify further potential synergies across the Group with regards to the media monitoring service we buy in from an external provider. The aim is to increase the quality/breath of media monitoring services to best meet the needs of the organisations and potentially increase the number of member organisations using the service. Given the changes in digital working driven by the pandemic, it is timely to properly reconsider how best the media monitoring service should be designed. This work will also assess the provision of services available from the market.

The Business Analyst will be required to interview senior leaders/stakeholders at the GLA and other GLA Group organisations to gather requirements. Project management expertise and public sector procurement expertise is essential.

The Business Analyst will report to the Accountable Lead for the External Relations & Stakeholder Engagement: The services we buy Collaboration Project. The recommendations of the review by the Business Analyst will be presented to the Collaboration Board for approval.

Key focus:
  • Lead discovery work to understand media monitoring requirements across the GLA/GLA Group and its key/senior users/stakeholders, delivering analysis of current needs, future needs and best practice to drive a better-quality service and improve buy-in/usage of the service across the GLA/GLA Group
  • Deliver clear recommendations for a media monitoring service and gain buy-in to a consistent approach across the GLA/GLA Group
  • Present/create executive level management information for the GLA Collaboration Board and provide internal /external stakeholders visibility of progress across the project, demonstrating progress against the plan


A Business Analyst, with expertise in business analysis, senior leader/stakeholder engagement, complex/high-profile project management and public sector procurement

Experience with data analysis, providing insights from analysis and reporting of key programme information and metrics from multiple organisations

Experience in project level reporting for a management board

Experience in procuring media monitoring or similar products and services

Ability to work at pace with autonomy, applying a persuasive influencing skills and well-developed Emotional Intelligence
