As Campaigner, you will be working closely with the Campaigns Manager and the rest of the team to create and implement ground-breaking campaigns for animals. The fun and interactive role of Campaigner will require responsibility for creating innovative consumer awareness and pressure campaigns - from putting initial ideas on the table to rolling them out across social media and other comms.It is imperative for the role and our organisation that you are vegan.Strong copy writing skills are a must, as well as an excellent ability to communicate creative ideas to the rest of the team and develop AJP campaigns according to well-branded strategies. Previous professional experience within the animal rights field is desirable, but someone willing to learn how to use marketing tools, update websites, and manage successful online campaigns will be considered. Being a small NGO that will only succeed through absolute determination of its staff, Animal Justice Project requires each team member to be both outstanding in their abilities, and dedicated to the cause of animal rights. Expect long hours and weekend work.Core tasks include the creation of imaginative campaign strategies, writing copy for campaign materials, and managing both online and street events. Our current campaigns have a lot of scope to work with, covering the commercial farming of pigs, birds, cows and calves.SkillsOutstanding copywritingGood time managementStrong proof-readerGood team player and communicatorAttention to detail and adherence to brand guidelinesDigitally savvy with an eye for layout and designAttention to detail and adherence to brand guidelinesStrong online campaign knowledge - both in areas of industry pressure and raising consumer awarenessJob DescriptionGeneralWork within a dedicated team to specific campaign strategies and deadlinesTravel to events and manage social media - Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, live videos across all platforms including IGTV, and Instagram storiesWrite weekly campaign content for social media and go live at least weekly, as well as strong, emotive and factual campaign literature including leaflets, factsheets, website content, petition texts, supporter emails and video scriptsResearch animal agriculture industry, target companies, and keep up-to-date on current situations concerning farmed animalsNetwork with grassroots animal rights groups to organise national Days of Action and other events to help get our investigations and campaigns onto the streetsPlan and organise events - ordering and sending out resources such as info stand and door dropper packsWork with Campaigns Manager to create effective online campaign strategies that puts pressure on target companies and promotes veganism to the general publicHelp ensure budget is implemented across campaignsAssist with fundraising efforts to pay for campaignsWork within Animal Justice Project's core branding, language and group objectivesWrite monthly reports including campaign successes, media coverage, and statisticsMailChimp - write emotive and powerful mailshots for our supporters on campaign and investigation launches, online and street actions and fundraisingSalesForce - work with our Supporter Care team on updating the databaseSocial Media, Website and VideoHave strong organisational skills eg filing images and videoHave basic video editing skills to support our Social Media Coordinator in putting together reels, TikToks and other short videosHave a basic knowledge of WordPress and being able to make edits when necessary
