Assistant Shop Manager Location: Kensington & Chelsea (SW3 5BS) Hours: full-time (35 hours; 5 days, across the week) Contract Type: Permanent Salary: up to £23,064 per annum, dependent on experience (inclusive of Inner London Weighting of £3,344) We have a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and motivated retailer to join our busy Kensington & Chelsea shop. Retailing with a difference Working alongside the Shop Manager, together you will be responsible for the successful delivery of a profitable, customer focussed shop that is the 'window of the British Red Cross' on the high street. Deputising for the Shop Manager on occasion, you will ensure the smooth running of the shop during their absence; this will include the accurate processing of any financial transactions, the delivery of shop floor and stockroom management, and adherence with policies and procedures. Our shops are supported by a dedicated team of volunteers - we couldn't run our shops without them! You'll oversee your volunteers' induction, management and development, and will encourage your shop team to share any ideas that may contribute towards the success of the store. The Kensington & Chelsea store benefits from its prestigious location and is one of the top performing shops in our portfolio. We often receive high-end donations of sought-after items and are known for being a treasure trove for fashion lovers. We require a retailer who understands the value of these donations and can promote them on several platforms (shop floor and shop window, online sales, social media platforms) to maximise their return. Together, you'll create a shop that will uphold the British Red Cross' image and reputation and help us raise vital funds that will help people in crisis. Helping people in crisis begins at your local charity shop Full of gifts, clothes and even the odd vintage gem, our 330 shops across the UK are home to over 6,500 volunteers and 700 paid staff. Our team is bright and bubbly, and we love meeting people from all walks of life. We want to make sure everyone that visits us has a great experience, and we never forget the contribution our little shop makes to helping those in crisis. You've got the experience and know-how from working in a shop environment. You're creative, with flair for presenting items in an imaginative way to maximise their retail potential.You have big ideas and keep up to date with retail trends. You can use your initiative for positive results.Numbers don't faze you. You've got a good understanding of financial and numerical information and have experience of cash handling and online stock-control.Also, you should have the following;Ability to understand issues related to working with volunteersProven customer care skillsProven IT skills and business online experience, and a willingness to maintain our in-house stock systems daily Closing date for applications is 23.59 on Wednesday 22nd September 2021, with interviews to follow soon after.
