Highly innovative, development led business with a superb reputation as innovation leaders within their industry, is looking for a Web Developer to join their team. Recruiting as a result of growth, this is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting edge technology within the IoT space.

The core business involves helping businesses solve complex internet connectivity challenges; be it super remote or very fast turnaround requirements. The IoT business blends the network with analytics and insight.

About the role:

·You will develop and deploy products and services that will both complement and enhance the current customer facing and internal systems. This will include both back-end and front-end development, although there would be a bias toward back end, as most of the systems involve data processing.

·Development will primarily be with Ruby-on-Rails, although we would advocate researching and implementing the latest and best technology for the requirement.

This will include:

·Helping to support and further develop a recently released customer and administration portal built using Ruby-on-Rails, PostgreSQL and MongoDB.

·Following best practices to deliver quality code on time and to specification.

·Using QA tools and services to ensure that deployed code is as error free as possible.

·Implementing agile methodologies to promote a transparent work flow as well as offering flexibility with features.

·Help to design and develop new systems or modules to further enhance the company's offerings

You will be responsible for:

·Liaising with other teams to agree final development specifications.

·Ensure quality code is deployed in a timely manner with minimal disruption.

·Maintain technical knowledge and make suggestions as to new technologies that could be used to help the business succeed.

·Code review of your peer's work, offering constructive feedback when necessary. We will encourage that all committed work is reviewed before deploying.

·Use analytical tools to monitor traffic, load and system availability, to provide high availability and pro-active actions. This will include Google analytics and New Relic.

About you:

·Someone who is passionate about innovation, IoT and driving both within network connectivity, will be more important than fitting the entire technical brief.They are happy to train in the specific technologies, if you can demonstrate the above.

·Ideally you will have 2-3 years commercial experience with MVC server-side scripting (PHP, Ruby or Python) with experience in Laravel, Zend or Django

·Experience in using front end frameworks (ReactJS, Angular)

·Previous experience and feel comfortable with implementing Object Oriented techniques

·Good MySQL / PostgreSQL knowledge - be able to construct efficient queries and schemas

·Understanding of Test-Driven Development and be able to work in such a manner.

·Writing code that meets commercial quality standards

·Evidence of being a self-starter and be able to work independently
