You will be responsible for leading the newly formed first line defence conduct team that will sit within underwriting and be responsible for the implementation and ongoing development of the first line defence Conduct Risk Framework to enable the business to demonstrate compliance with the FCA and other relevant regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Review the Conduct Risk Framework, Product Governance Policy and Vulnerable Customers Policy and ensure they are reviewed annually and remain up to date as appropriate;
  • Provide assistance to the business on the interpretation and practical application of these policies;
  • To act as the first referral point to the business on all conduct risk related queries, with escalation to the Compliance Function as required;
  • Undertake conduct risk Insurance Product Information Document (IPID) and policy wording reviews and making recommendations where changes are required from a customer outcomes perspective;
  • Provide oversight of new product design, as well as material changes to existing products to ensure customer outcomes are appropriately considered throughout all stages of the product lifecycle, prior to approval by the Group CUO;
  • Creation, ownership and delivery of Conduct Risk Training to all relevant employees;
  • Undertake Quality Assurance (QA) reviews in relation to the Conduct Risk Framework and open market underwriting to ensure internal processes are being adhered to and customers are receiving fair outcomes;
  • Creation and collation of Product Management Information (MI) dashboard, to be reported at the Conduct Oversight Group


Skills and Experience:
  • FCA / Conduct knowledge and experience. Insurance experience is essential.
  • Knowledge of the Lloyd's market
  • Strong communication skills at all levels
  • Ability to identify compliance requirements and embed them into business processes
  • Ability to build relationships to implement change
  • Ability to apply regulatory requirements to commercial scenarios
