A fantastic opportunity to join a leading global specialty based Insurer in this key role heading up their Nottingham based claims operation as Head of Claims.
As Head of Claims you will work with and be part of the senior Claims Leadership team to manage the Customer claims operations of the Specialty claims function, to ensure compliance with agreed Specialty Claims Management Principles and ensure minimum standards are hit with an aim to exceed in all areas.
It will be within your remit to ensure optimal operational efficiency is achieved whilst providing an excellent client service with a focus on quality, professionalism and financial performance.
You will be responsible for the overall claims function across a number of speciality lines of business managing a team of 4 Team Managers who will be responsible for Property Claims, Legal Expenses claims, warranty claims and accident and health claims between them. Although it would be highly desirable to have experience in all of these areas it is not essential. You will however ideally have experience of at least one of the lines of business.
You will Manage the performance and resources of the Customer claims teams so that there is proactive handling of reported claims and reasonable and proper case reserves are set in accordance with reserving philosophy/policy. You will ensure that they comply with all regulatory requirements, including Specialty Claims Management Principles and Minimum Standards and Group policies relating to underwriting in particular the Treating Customers Fairly Policy & Guidance. In addition to this you will also have ownership of the handling of contentious and high-profile claims.
You will have oversight of day-to-day engagement with outsourced claims management/TPA's, including selection of third-party administrators and lawyers. Working closely with other Head of Claims Operations and Delegated Authority you will support TPA / MGA performance and effective resolution of recommended actions arising from claims audits undertaken.
To be considered you must be a proven high performing Manager within a claims arena with the ability to shape and develop the direction of the claims department to achieve set goals. You will ideally have a technical claims background as well as operational people management. You must be able to display the correct gravitas to inspire the department whilst working closely with board level Managers.
