Office based role set within an established service charge team. This interesting client side role is looking after the service charge accounting for a substantial portfolio of commercial properties. The portfolio is diverse and could include office blocks, shopping parks, mixed use schemes, retail and light industrial units.
The successful Service Charge Accountant will have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience, will have used a property related accounts system and enjoy a varied, busy and often deadline focussed role.
A day in the life of a Service Charge Accountant...
Posting Receipts into client accounts
Posting Invoices onto client ledgers
End of year Client Accounts preparation
Assisting in the reviewing of service charges and adjustments if needed
Processing adjustments and reconciling to the system
Providing service charge reports to property managers ahead of the budgets being prepared
Ensure all charges are applied correctly to the tenant account
Review and recommend any movements of expenditure between cost centres
Review and recommend any prepayments and accruals at the service charge year end
Clear down service charge VAT on a quarterly basis
Check invoice descriptions and make amendments where necessary to ensure correct billing
Daily use of Qube Horizon and MS Excel
