This role will effectively manage a portfolio of grants, assess applications and make recommendations to decision-making panels. The candidate will also be in charge of provide support to grant holders in order to facilitate the delivery of quality projects on time and on budget. They will also manage monitoring and evaluation to ensure that grant aided groups deliver on objective and in line with good practice.

They will work with the Head of Development and other relevant people to implement transparent and effective grant management processes, by reviewing grant applications and to ensure that the applications are appropriately sought from sections of the BAME sector, according to V4CE principles in grant making. They will also assess grant applications and make clear recommendations to decision-making panels according to the agreed timetable; to ensure recommendations are clearly reasoned and in line with agreed criteria. To also ensure that financial recommendations made to decision-making panels are within the allocated budget.

The post holder will have to work with the Head of Development to ensure that BAME groups, particularly small grassroots groups, have the support they need to make applications and build capacity; to contribute to the development of work with other infrastructures providers to ensure a comprehensive service for BAME groups.

We speak up to policymakers on the issues that matter to the sector, bring the sector together to share good practice and develop the sector to better meet the needs of communities.

Improve the capacity of VCOs to meet the needs of BME and other disadvantaged communities
