Our client, a leading London university is currently looking to recruit a temporary Student Engagement Officer to lead on the preparation and organisation of university events and support with student communication. This position is offered as a temporary assignment for the duration of 3.5 months.
As their Student Engagement Officer, you will lead on the preparation, organisation and administration of key university events, including the Graduation and Honorary Degree ceremonies, Welcome events and many other throughout the year. You will be responsible for ensuring the provision of a high-quality experience for participants and communicating key information related to the events to a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally. This is a varied position, and as such you will also support the alignment of essential operational messaging from key services to students in a timely, accessible, and efficient way, ensuring students are informed and prepared for their studies, and particularly the end of their studies. Finally, along with the continued support and development of all other events and projects within the Department, you will lead in the supervision of any temporary staff within the department and track expenditure to ensure all projects are delivered within budget.
To be successful in this position, you will have previous experience of working both within events and in a client facing role, ideally within a higher education setting. You will be organised, with excellent attention to detail along with possessing strong stakeholder engagement and management skills. A crucial role, you'll have the ability to build good working relationships with a range of colleagues and to develop networks outside of the department. Finally, an enthusiasm for and interest in the student experience, preferably with an understanding of key university events.
This position is being offered on a temporary basis to start on the 4th October and they envisage the length of the assignment being 3.5 months at this time, so you will need to be available to meet these time frames. It will be based on campus 3 days a week, with the other 2 days working remotely.
