ROLE TITLE: Interim Finance Manager

DURATION: 6 Months

BASED: Remote Working from the UK, managing a team based in France

CONTRACT: Full time


START DATE: Week commencing 25th October 2021

SALARY: Negotiable dependant on experience


We are looking for an interim finance manager as maternity cover for 6 months. The role will be based in the UK, working remotely but will be managing a team of 2 based in France. The year end for the business is December so a large responsibility of this role will be to take full ownership of the year end audit and prepare to a high standard, all backup schedules and full accounts in line with French GAAP.


  • Preparation of year end statutory accounts under French GAAP including notes
  • Full management of year end audit
  • Communication and presentation to UK parent company
  • Responsible for the day to day running of the finance department
  • Monthly management accounts production
  • Day to day cash management and planning
  • Management and development of a team of 2

Year End
  • Preparation of full accounts for the year ending Dec 2020 in line with French GAAP
  • Preparation of audit files with backup workings to communicate to parent company and auditors
  • Full management of the year end audit and relationship with the auditors based in France

Management Accounts
  • Responsible for monthly production of the management accounts including the Management Accounts pack & other supplementary reports where required
  • Prepare all monthly journals and cost analysis on the P&L on a monthly basis providing commentary
  • Make additional accounting adjustments where necessary in line with accounting standards
  • Ensure reporting is closed within 5 working days & balance sheet recs within 7 days
  • Performance Measurement including reporting on KPI's actual vs Budget and LY, financial statement analysis and trends / drivers benchmarking
  • Identify and highlight risks and opportunities to the financial performance of the business

Cash and Banking

  • Ensure day to day cash is managed and expenditure signed off in line with process

Management of Team

  • Management and development of the finance team


  • Submission of all statutory declarations including VAT and Intrastat
  • Management of year end audit, preparation of schedules, preparation of accounts, notes to the accounts, liaison with the auditors in French, liaison with the parent company in English.

  • French speaking - Native tongue
  • English speaker
  • Strong audit background
  • Experience working with a UK parent company.
  • Retail Experience - Preferably online retail
