LEAD INFORMATION

Job Title: Sheet Metal Worker

Site location: Wigan

Responsibleto: Production Manager

Responsible for: Safe operation of all tools provided and ensuring the production requirements are met at site daily

Client brief: Our client is a well-established design, manufacture and installation engineering firm servicing the material handling industry

KEY INFORMATION

Reason for vacancy: Increased requirements

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Basic pay: £12.00 - £14.00ph (depending on experience)

Shifts: Monday to Thursday 8am-4.30pm, Fridays 8am-3.30pm

Breaks:AM & PM 15-minute break, 30-minute lunch break

Overtime: 1.5x rate, lots available through the week and at weekends

Bonus's: None

Holidays: Accrual (20 days + BH once permanent)

Facilities: Canteen, site parking

RESPONSIBILITIES

Fabricating sheet metal products with mild and stainless steel from technical drawings. Cutting, bending and stamping sheet metal in accordance with design instructions. Installing and assembling sheet metal products, using joining techniques such as welding, bolting, and riveting.

Individual responsibilities: Ensuring your part in the production process is well managed and daily production targets are met whilst working to site safety requirements set out by management

Shift duration per day: 8.5 Hours

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Knowledge of sheet metal assembly techniques
  • Ability to use machine tools and bench top tools equipment
  • Strength and stamina
  • Manual skills and precision
