SDS Author – Safety Data, Chemicals – Global Business (Maternity Cover)

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a SDS Author to join our team on a temporary contract to cover Maternity leave. Reporting to the Product Stewardship Manager, you will be responsible for the provision of health and safety data

What you’ll deliver day-to-day:
+ Assistance with the update of safety data on the SDS Software.
+ Coordination of the issue of Safety Data Sheets within agreed timescales.
+ Coordination of the issue of Poison Centre Notification dossiers to the ECHA Notification Portal.
+ Update of Safety Data Documents for own branded and multi-sourced products.
+ Revision of European generated SDS.
+ Liaison with suppliers to resolve issues on classification differences of similar products.
+ Maintenance of the Company SDS Library.
+ Development of exposure scenarios where required for ESDS.
+ Utilise departmental IT resources effectively.
+ Comply with safety notices.
+ Comply with all Quality procedures.
+ Co-operate on all matters concerned with any health, safety, training, legislative and environmental matters
+ You’ll be familiar with the chemical classification rules and will be highly self-motivated.
+ An excellent communicator, you will be confident when dealing with people at all levels.
+ You’ll have a keen eye for detail with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Focussed and flexible in your approach, you will be confident in planning and prioritising your workload.
+ You’ll be enthusiastic to learn new skills.
+ Strong IT skills and the ability to keep calm when working to tight deadlines is essential.
