This is a band 8a 6 month temporary Healthcare Commissioning Project Manager role. The role embraces strategic engagement and collaboration with key stakeholders; project management of design & build; recruitment and service commissioning work streams; and financial planning and modelling through to business case production.

The client is a large NHS trust based in Central London and are one of the worlds leading hospitals, finding new and better ways to treat illnesses.


The key responsibilities for the Healthcare Commissioning Project Manager are:

Contribute to major decisions on programme and project development
Ensure best practice is maintained in the delivery of an effective and productive programme that reflects the principles of sound project governance
Work with senior colleagues and the Executive Team as and when appropriate or necessary
Monitor and manage the performance of the planning team and working group in order to maintain momentum and the quality of programme delivery
Be the link between Infection Prevention & Control, Estates & Facilities, Patient and Staff Safety to ensure their input to the design process and operational development
Identify possible innovations in service delivery and workforce design in delivering patient-centred affordable care from facilities
Engage with the organisation and ensure that those adopted are reflected in business cases, briefings, design and commissioning
Lead the recruitment of operational and clinical staff required for the operational delivery
Provide regular reports to working and steering groups
Produce briefing documents and specifications for design teams to work toProfile

The successful candidate for the Healthcare Commissioning Project Manager role will be required to exercise highly developed leadership, negotiation and facilitation skills and give expert advice to senior stakeholders.

A Project Management qualificatin e.g. Prince 2
Experience of stakeholder engagement including children, young people and families
Principles of developing Service and Operational Policies
Operational commissioning
Implementing change in a complex environment
Proven capabilities in process/problem solving
Effective at team building and motivation and applying leadership appropriate to context
Skilled negotiator, influencer and persuader
Able to reconcile strategic and operational issues
Knowledge of clinical processes and working practices
Knowledge of factors influencing design of healthcare facilities
Managing/professional leadership of a unit or department in an acute healthcare setting
Involvement in implementing a major capital project
