We are currently looking for Transport Officers for Local Government based in Manchester.
The role holder will lead and manage a team of Passenger Assistants and School Crossing Patrol officers within a bespoke area of the service.
The role holder will ensure that the team is focused on delivering tangible outcomes which improve outcomes and the quality of life for children and young people within the city.
Co-ordinate passenger assistant transport to and from school/college/day care ensuring sufficient cover of all routes.
Plan and coordinate transport routes in liaison with transport companies and schools.
Review applications and make decisions on travel assistance for pupils to and from school.
Process invoices from home to school transport operators.
Carry out school crossing patrol assessments.
Carry out individual pupil needs assessments including wheelchair assessments.
Prepare travel review appeal paperwork for panel.
The Team - Home to School Transport
The Council has a duty to promote the use of sustainable travel and transport between home and school. This includes promoting healthy, sustainable and safe travel solutions; actively engaging and promoting good outcomes for all children; supporting children and young people to attend school regularly; working in partnership with parents and carers to support them with their legal responsibility to ensure that their children attend school; and promoting independent travelling for children and young people wherever possible, taking account of their age and needs
Deliver PPE to passenger Assistants Confident and competent with Excel spreadsheets
The role will be full time Monday to Friday. They are an operational team with working hours between 7am and 6pm with each team member working 7 hrs per day. We also use a flex system.
These roles are initially for three months, but these can be extended. The rate of pay is £11.55 per hour. **YOU MUST HAVE A CURRENT DBS
