School Finance Administrative Assistant who is articulate, literate and numerate,with good interpersonal and organisational skills, and previous experience of working in a finance administration position is required for an Academy Trust based in Waterlooville, Hampshire.

SALARY: £18,933 to £19,941 FTE / Actual Gross Salary £8,978 to £9,456

LOCATION: Waterlooville, Hampshire

JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, flexible between 8.30am and 2.00pm

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a School Finance Administrative Assistantwho is articulate, literate and numerate,with good interpersonal and organisational skills, and previous experience of working in a finance administration position.

As the School Finance Administrative Assistant you will join a hardworking, committed and enthusiastic team playing a pivotal part of the administration of the finances and other resources provided to support the Finance Team.

Working as the School Finance Administrative Assistant you will process orders and invoices, create and amend supplier details, review statements and ensure all supplier invoices are properly authorised.

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the School Finance Administrative Assistant will include:
  • Liaise with teachers and suppliers over queries
  • Assist with the banking and recording of all income, including catering and reconciling with catering reports
  • Process all transactions on school credit cards and reconcile with monthly credit card statements
  • Oversee sales from school shop, recording on system and ensuring stock is ordered as appropriate
  • Reports - assist with the production of reports as requested
  • Assist with year-end stock check
  • Lettings: Raise invoices for the hire of facilities on a monthly basis and pass on bad debt information to lettings administrator on a monthly basis
  • Act as first point of contact for enquiries relating to finance
  • Work cooperatively with others towards shared goals contributing to the development of others through shared knowledge
  • Provide cover for colleagues where required
  • Ensure CPL is completed
  • Ensure Tucasi is regularly updated with SIMS data
  • Ensure parents are distributed with appropriate passwords

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
  • Previous experience of working in a finance department of an academy school
  • Sound administrator with attention to detail
  • Working with a range of financial software programmes, MIS and Microsoft applications
  • Articulate, literate and numerate
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Organisational ability and able to manage time to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Appreciation of the issues working around young people and prepared to train to gain up to date knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance in relation to working with, and the protection of children and young people
  • Ability to support the school ethos

Desirable
  • A level education or beyond
  • Previous experience of working in a similar role
  • Previous experience of working with school SIMS system, PS Financials and Tucasi
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word. Publisher and Excel
