Tradewind are proud to supporting one of our partnership Primary Schools in Hull to find a temporary Deputy Headteacher to start as soon as possible until December 2021 in the first instance. Pay for this role is in line with the Leadership Pay Scales.

The role of Deputy Headteacher would involve the below:
  • Lead design and development of the curriculum. In addition, ensure that innovative approaches are used to enable children to make outstanding progress
  • Able to model assessment tools and support others in the effective use of pupil progress data to optimise learning for all children
  • Be a pillar of support to the Headteacher by taking ownership of some of the management and leadership of the school
  • Be a strong KS2 practitioner and provide cover teaching when required.
  • Organise timetables and day-to-day rotas and ensure that they are implemented
  • Cover the Headteacher in their absence
  • To support the DSL and maintain a collective responsibility, and an individual commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and recruitment of staff
  • Assist in the management of staff and resources to in line with school policy
  • Work as part of a team with colleagues in the implementation of the School Improvement Plan
  • To be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team in the short-term period in role

The school has excellent transport links and parking on site. It is a large school with a highly supportive teaching and leadership team. The school has excellent facilities with plenty of outdoor space. The school has close links with the local parents and community. The school have a large catchment area and cater to children from EYFS-Year 6.

Essential skills/experience required for the role of Deputy Headteacher:
  • Qualified Teacher status and Degree or equivalent
  • Evidence of further professional development
  • Have a clear understanding of the necessary qualities for effective teaching and learning
  • Be able to understand and mentor teachers in assessment for learning
  • The ability and confidence in conducting in whole school self-evaluation
  • A strong knowledge and understanding of data analysis. From this analysis have the ability to use data set targets for improvement
  • Relevant up to date knowledge & understanding of the current national education agenda
  • A strong and up to date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures

To work with Tradewind in this role of Deputy Headteacher the candidate must:
  • Have QTS and this is essential for this post
  • Have the right to legally work in the UK and provide proof of this
  • Provide a CV with a full 10 year work history
  • have an enhanced DBS or be happy to have one completed through Tradewind
  • Be able to provide 2 recent and relevant references
