My client has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced RISK MANAGER to supporting the design and maintenance of an effective and robust Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), that adheres to risk appetite and meets regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and maintenance of an Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF)
  • Support the development and maintenance of Risk Appetite, including the development of statements, metrics, early warning indicators and tolerances
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of a Conduct Risk Framework
  • Provide accurate, consistent and timely advice to the business on an ongoing basis, including; responding to ad hoc queries; contributing to projects; advising on new products and business proposals; contributing to policy and procedure documents.
  • Support the development of strong management information and data analysis to report on risk related information across all principal risk categories
  • Support the development of the RCSA Assurance Framework, covering all relevant risks
  • Assist in the design, development and maintenance of the 2nd line Assurance Framework
  • Complete reviews of identified high-risk areas, recommending action plans as required
  • Facilitate workshops to ensure all risks are captured, measured and controlled effectively
  • Support the maintenance of risk registers with risk owners across the business
  • Develop risk reporting to various committees in respect of risk exposure and activities to allow for effective oversight, and to inform risk-based decision-making
  • Work with the Compliance Manager to develop a risk-based monitoring programme
  • Report to key stakeholders to provide assurance of activities and risk tolerance adherence
  • Provide oversight of change project working groups and steering committees as required
  • Lead the effective completion of risk assurance activity, ensuring all actions are tracked to completion and escalated appropriately at the earliest non-compliance
  • Ensure that risk events are managed, remediation activities are undertaken, and that effective and mature preventative measures and controls are implemented
  • Assist with risk management activities for third-party suppliers/service providers
  • Act as ambassador for a 'risk aware' culture, raising the standards of risk management practices and driving continuous improvement across the business
  • Attend relevant external workshops / meetings to maintain awareness of developments in risk management techniques
  • Deputise for the Head of Risk and Compliance on an ad hoc basis as required
  • Ensure compliance with UK and local regulations, Company Policies and FCA Conduct Rules, as well as being committed to the fair treatment of customers (TCF)


Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Demonstrable risk management experience gained within the financial services sector
  • Good knowledge of operational risk management tools, techniques and control frameworks
  • Subject matter expertise in relation to risk management practices
  • Customer focused, ensuring the fair treatment of customers (TCF) and the delivery of appropriate customer outcomes at all times
