Infrastructure Team Leader

Would you like to join an exciting systems and software programme covering multiple disciplines? We currently have a vacancy for an Infrastructure Team Leader at our site in Christchurch.

As an Infrastructure Team Leader, you will be covering disciplines including design, development, installation, implementation, integration, acceptance, training and logistics support. This is run solely from our Christchurch site for delivery to our customer at various user sites.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to grow and expand your skillset within BAE Systems.

Your responsibilities:
  • Technical lead, providing technical leadership to other members of team and supporting new starters with the technical aspects of their tasks
  • Planning, estimating and general day to day team management
  • Windows security, including the evaluation and resolution of security vulnerabilities
  • Development of technical solutions
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting.
  • Providing technical guidance and estimates to bids

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:
  • Confident in the use of PowerShell scripts and be able to mentor other users in the use of PowerShell
  • Installation and configuration of Microsoft operating systems
  • Windows security including active directory, GPOs, App Locker and firewall
  • Demonstrate previous leadership experience, with the ability to provide technical leadership to members of the team and support new starters with technical aspects of their tasks.

Desirable:
  • Qualified to diploma or degree level in Computer Science or Software Engineering or related discipline
  • Windows networking including DNS, DHCP, network teaming and WDS
  • Use of centralised deployment toolkits such as MDT or SCCM
  • Experience using configuration management systems
  • Installing and configuring anti-virus
  • Backup software
  • Monitoring suites

What we're looking for in you:

You should be able to demonstrate a can-do attitude, good communication, and be able to problem solve to be able to deliver agreed budgets and timescales in a timely manner. You should also have existing knowledge of networking and security systems, and a general interest or a willingness to learn.
