Psychology Graduate - Mental Health Support Assistant | Brent Secondary School

A Psychology Graduate is required for this Mental Health Support Assistant role to support across KS3 and KS4 with ASD and Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs.

You will be part of a hard-working inclusion team, ensuring that this pupil has access to mainstream class teaching, through your support and teamwork with other staff and external support frameworks.

  • Psychology-related degree required - 2:1 at the very least, First-Class is preferable
  • Joining a close-knit inclusion team as a 1:1 Support Assistant
  • Mental Health Support Assistant role - Supporting pupils across KS3 and KS4 with ASD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs
  • Salary: £14,500 - paid on a weekly PAYE basis
  • Full-time role starting in September 2021 until July 2022
  • Excellent opportunity for an aspiring Educational Psychologist or Speech and Language Therapist
As a capable Mental Health Support Assistant, you'll play a pivotal role in a very important stage of this pupil's education. Owing to the COVID pandemic there has been a surge of emotional needs for pupils across the country. The school is a very inclusive environment and understands the benefit of having a Mental Health Support Assistant supporting their most vulnerable pupils and allowing them to continue to access the excellent teaching at the school.

This is a full-time Mental Health Support Assistant position available for the duration of the coming academic year. The school has a very strong leadership team and an experience Special Needs Co-ordinator, who will work closely with you to ensure your support is tailored and appropriate to the pupil/s you will be working with.
