Wilkinson Associates is working with a retail bank in Edinburgh to help source an Assistant Manager, Finance Planning and Analysis. Ourclient offers a variety of flexible working options to help to balance home and work commitments.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the finance team with multiple stakeholders across the bank. The role will help to influence performance, adding value and insight through strategic planning, capital and management reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting running the bank's monthly management reporting process, including preparation of the monthly finance board pack
  • Ensuring that group management reporting obligations are fulfilled through preparation of monthly group reporting pack and MI
  • Supporting and challenging outputs and assisting in the timely preparation and delivery of the annual corporate plan and budget processes, alongside regular rolling forecasts
  • Supporting running the bank's forecast capital management reporting process, including preparation of the monthly asset and liability committee slides and inputs into the corporate plan and budget processes, alongside regular rolling forecasts
  • Supporting delivery of stress testing exercises and ad-hoc financial analysis including input to Executive briefing paper
  • Provide support in the benchmarking and analysis of competitors

What you need to know and show
  • Qualified accountant (or exam qualified) with practical experience of financial or management reporting
  • Highly numerate, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Well organised, able to prioritise workload in line with tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure
  • Effective team player with ability to working closely with others to deliver results
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data and analysis into user-friendly outputs to suit the audience
  • Proactive approach to continually improving processes
  • Experience of the financial services industry and/or financial planning strategy would be beneficial
