Our client is a leading, Global Infrastructure fund with a strategy led by stable long-term returns, low correlation with traditional asset classes and measurable environmental impact. Having focused exclusively on this sector since inception, the team unites the experience required to navigate this dynamic market. They have built the platform to over $40bn AUM, with a diverse portfolio of 24 companies across transport, digital infrastructure and energy.

Candidate Profile and Key Competences

The Associate will play a key role in making and managing infrastructure investments, working closely with the global team in evaluating investment opportunities. You will have the experience to be fully effective executing transactions with minimal supervision.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate best in class competence across the following:

  • Research, analyse and evaluate a variety of infrastructure investment opportunities
  • Build complex dynamic financial models to analyse investment opportunities
  • Perform due diligence on opportunities including past and projected financial performance, quality of management teams, investment merits and risks, expected returns, regulatory environment, industry dynamics and other relevant factors
  • Review 3rd party due diligence reports (legal, accounting, industry strategic reviews, environmental, etc.)
  • Perform valuation analysis, including DCF/LBO, precedent transactions and comparable company analysis
  • Meet with company management and review past performance, strategy, outlook, regulatory and industry issues, and other relevant topics as required
  • Assist with the overall execution of investments
  • Liaise with investment partners (other investors) and advisors (financial, legal, etc.)
  • Monitor ongoing financial and operational performance of Infrastructure investments
  • Identify and help implement performance improvement initiatives at portfolio companies
  • Assist in performing valuation reviews for Infrastructure investments
  • Assist in building and leveraging relationships with portfolio company management teams

The candidate must satisfy the below requirements:

  • Exceptional academic credentials in the area of business or economics with a focus on finance
  • 2.5-6 years' of relevant transaction experience in private equity, infrastructure- and/or energy-related corporate/project finance roles/relevant investment experience
  • Strong analytical and financial skills with the ability to build and review complex financial models, review and structure own work, and draw logical conclusions from their output
  • Mastery of relevant corporate finance and investment concepts (valuation, accounting, etc.) and understanding of legal aspects relevant to M&A transactions
  • Experience gained in Infrastructure, TMT/Telco, Industrial, Energy/Utilities or crossover sectors with Real assets
  • Strong interpersonal skills and business relationship skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Flexibility, adaptability and initiative
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Team player who enjoys a high-performance culture
