About the role:



Sword Venture are recruiting for a Wells Data Manager to provide expertise and support to an ongoing service in a central data team. You will be responsible for building, integrating, managing, maintaining and quality assuring datasets in the Wells domain.



As part of the role, you will be required to:


  • Work with relevant product owners to assess data priorities and analyse the technical data management requirements needed to deliver these data products, using Agile working practices
  • Work with relevant product owners to prioritise product features to ensure the data management is of sufficient quality for each product
  • Work directly with product owners and the wider data management team to deliver global datasets that are of sufficient quality and can integrate across domains
  • Work with data management experts in the program and flag issues/blockers to the product owner
  • Work with various range of domain experts from developers to data modelers to understand needs and constraints
  • Act as a technical expert for the data management work in the team, working with data managers across the client to continuously improve the data management quality of work


You will have:

  • Strong technical background in wells data generation capture and management. Including but not limited to Formation Pressure Data, Geomechanics, LWD, MWD, Wireline etc.
  • Data management expertise in Techlog, Petrel and PPDM
  • Experience working in a team that uses Agile approaches: Kanban, Scrum, etc.
  • Ability to listen to end users and identify the specific data products needed to achieve an outcome
  • Experience interacting with internal customers and data specialists to collect and prioritise development requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills and technical credibility in dealing with end users and data product owners
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills


Desirable but not essential:

  • Awareness of Data Engineering and process automation
  • Experience working in a multi-national company
  • Experience with business intelligence tools
