Senior IT Support Engineer - Harwell - £250 - £290 per day

Note: There is an immediate start for this position, we require applicants to be within commutable distance from Harwell, Oxfordshire who can commute to work for 3 days a week.



Role: Senior IT Support Engineer

Reporting to: Head of IT

Hours of work: Mon - Fri (37.5 hours per week)

Employment Type: Contract until end of the year with a strong possibility of extending

Location: Work 3 days in the office and 2 days home working.

Salary: £250 - £290 per day

An IT Support Engineer is required on an initial 3-4 month basis with a high possibility of this being extended.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support a leading R&D organisation which is recognised as one of the world's leading establishment in their field.



The Role:



Manage IT for starters, leavers and moves. Provide 1st and 2nd line support to staff across all divisions and disciplines. Record, track and fix reported issues. Configure, advise and recommend on software & hardware use.

Responsibilities:


  • IT provision for starters, leavers and office moves tasks as required.
  • Setup starters IT e.g. account, permissions and equipment
  • Action leavers IT e.g. disable and remove permissions
  • Action IT for office moves liaising with other relevant groups
  • Provide 1st and 2nd line support to staff and users for all systems in use including hardware and software
  • Resolve, record, and track user calls to completion, keeping the user informed of progress
  • Advise and recommend on software use, license setup and configuration
  • Setup and installation of IT for new staff including Desktop, Laptop and Telephony
  • Carry out IT moves for offices and labs as required. relocate, install & connect IT equipment e.g. Desktop, Laptop and Printers



Requirements:


  • Technical skills and experience across; MS Windows, MS Office, Citrix, VPN, Anti-virus software, Adobe, Email, PC, Printer, LAN, Networking/WIFI, Active Directory, Warehouse Scanning Solutions (not essential)
  • Strong ITIL, analytic and communication skills
  • Strong general knowledge of IT infrastructure, network and applications based on Microsoft platforms
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting client issue
  • Strong attention to detail and a customer focussed mentality
