We supply all the UK's food retailers with everything from Sandwiches, soups and sushi to cooking sauces, pickles and ready meals.

Here at Atherstone, we have a team of around 550 colleagues. We produce sandwiches, wraps, rolls, bircher pots and toasties for some of the biggest retailers in the UK including Starbucks, Aldi, Cafe Nero and the Munch brand sold in WH Smith travel outlets.

We're looking for an experienced National Account Manager to join us to look after one of our most strategic accounts within our Food to Go business unit. The role will be based out of our Atherstone site, however it will only require 1-2 days a week in the office, as well as semi-regular visits to the customer in London.

What you'll be doing

As a Business Account Manager, you will be responsible for the management, motivation and development of the trading partnership between Greencore and the customer, whilst developing and delivering sustained profitable growth. Responsibilities will include:

  • Create and execute customer specific account plans by using trends and insight to maximise sales value and profitability through a business plan approach
  • Identify and develop, in line with customer requirements, new business opportunities within the division and maximise the benefits for both parties through the development, negotiation and delivery of joint business plans
  • Establish, develop and maintain close working long term relationship with key customers, building market and competitor knowledge to identify and proactively satisfy customer requirements; develop and act on potential new business opportunities
  • Work proactively with the category, NPD and commercial finance team to develop a product offer that improves sales and margin taking into account shopper and financial insight
  • Proactively challenge the business way of working to help develop and drive positive change throughout the business and within the customer partnership

This is a really great opportunity for someone to contribute towards the development of a new channel for Greencore and maximise on the opportunities we have for growth in this area.

What we're looking for

  • You'll need experience in buying or as a National Account Manager for a food or consumer goods manufacturer
  • This role will suit someone with an entrepreneurial outlook that is interested in food - our customer and NPD team are passionate about innovating so an interest in this area will benefit this individual
  • Food service or coffee shop experience would be a bonus, however we are happy to consider individuals with a grocery background
  • Broad knowledge of the convenience food market
  • Previous account management experience or a background in buying
  • People management skills
  • FMCG background would be advantageous
