Back-end PHP Developer (initial 6 month contract - remote / outside UK preferrable - £340 GBP per day)

Great opportunity for an experienced Back-end PHP Developer to join a small dynamic team and contribute to the development of an innovative application. You will be working on a key project changing the subscription service of the platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing and developing new features
  • Working collaboratively to tackle complex problems and make decisions
  • Identifying and implementing improvements for reliability, scalability and performance
  • Investigating and resolving defects
  • Helping to assure the quality of other team members' code
  • Improving and maintaining our codebase enabling continuous evolution and innovation through discovery of pain points, research into solutions, implementation of proof of concepts and ensuring the adoption of these by the rest of the team.
  • Write and build valuable documentation and acting as an exemplar of best practice
  • Estimating and planning development tasks working alongside the product and delivery team as well as external development team.

Essential Requirements
  • Experience of using Git (CLI)
  • Experience using PHP7 and either Laravel or Symfony
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs and relational databases
  • AWS experience
  • Good understanding of current and emerging trends
  • Ability to learn and contribute very quickly
  • Comfortable working under pressure
  • Excellent English language communications skills essential

  • Subscription services would be advantageous
  • JavaScript framework - strong preference for React.JS and Redux to help collaborate with the front-end development team
  • Knowledge of Webpack & SCSS
  • Docker experience
  • Experience with modern JavaScript testing, debugging and automation techniques
