This is a newly created role within our Engineering team and we are seeking a motivated individual with excellent technical skills and proven experience in Site Engineering within the Energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will work closely under the project management team to manage the on-site operations during the construction period to ensure on schedule completion and compliance with the company's high-quality standards.

  • Pre-condition site surveys
  • Initial site setup and establishment (supported by the HSE Site Manager)
  • Identification of local resources, materials, services
  • Assist the HSE Site Manager with establishment and ongoing management of welfare and waste facilities, as well as plant hire (as required)
  • Ongoing management of the on-site operations
  • Ensure correct implementation of electrical, civil, and mechanical construction drawings by the main Subcontractor
  • Supervise subcontractors schedule and works
  • Report to the Project Manager any deviations from the PoW or scope by the subcontractors
  • Quantity and quality receipt of on-site materials from main equipment and local suppliers
  • Manage construction flow and timetable
  • Provide technical support and guidance, solving on site problems
  • Preparation of daily, weekly, monthly progress reports and documentation for internal use and Client requirements
  • Ensure compliance with QHSE procedures
  • Management of site finishing works and demobilization
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes including anti-bribery policy and Environmental and Quality Management System (compliant with ISO 9001 and 14001)

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in the construction of energy related projects such as battery storage projects and solar parks. Experience in battery storage projects is hugely desirable
  • Degree or an equivalent level of qualification in Engineering related discipline. Electrical Engineering is preferred
  • Ability of effective communication between external subcontractors and within the team
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical and civil construction drawings is essential
  • Working knowledge of AUTOCAD
  • Technical knowledge and experience to deliver from pre-construction to project delivery
  • Knowledge of basic power generation set up and components
  • Knowledge on testing and cold commissioning
  • Effective communicator by written and project update meeting
  • Understanding of toolbox talk and H&S policy for site
  • Awareness of UK rules and regulations
  • A self-motivated, proactive individual with good communication skills
  • Good organizational skills with ability to manage time effectively between multiple technically demanding projects
  • Demonstrate a logical approach to tasks with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to present complex technical results in a clear and concise manner
  • Hands-on approach, flexible and positive attitude
  • Attention to detail and strong focus on accuracy of information
  • Working knowledge of MS Office in particular Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Full Driving license

Desirable Skills:
  • Understanding of Substation Design and Protection Coordination
  • Knowledge and experience with SCADA systems
  • BS7671 17th & 18th edition qualification and ability to deliver designs and specify required equipment according to the regulations
  • Understanding of LV/HV Distribution Design and Protection Coordination
  • Working knowledge of battery energy storage solutions (BESS), Energy Storage solutions (ESS) and EV charging

This role will require a presence on site during the construction delivery phase including commissioning and project handover to O&M.
