This Finance Manager job in Edinburgh with a leading Social Care provider is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a lively and fun finance function. The organisation is a charity providing support to all sectors of society across Scotland - from the elderly and infirm to the homeless and those struggling with substance abuse for example. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance Manager will have oversight of a small finance function comprising Accounts Payable, Credit Control and Payroll. The Finance Manager will manage their staff's workflow, ensuring that the work is evenly spread and that peaks in demand are minimised as much as possible. Moreover, the Finance Manager will act as the conduit to the rest of the finance function, providing high level support to the Financial Controller and Finance Business Partners as appropriate.
A key component of the role will of course to assist with the production of the monthly management accounts, together with the compilation of all necessary accruals and pre-payments. The Finance Manager will play a key part in the production of the annual budget process as well as supporting the annual statutory audit and work closely with internal and external stakeholders as appropriate. You'll also oversee the bank postings and bank reconciliations as well as month-end and year-end reconciliations of balance sheet accounts. Finally, over time, you'll become the subject matter expert on the organisation's ERP system and act as a bridge between the technical approach of the provider and the requirements of end users, to ensure an efficient working platform for all stakeholders.
To be successful, it is envisaged that you will be an experienced finance professional who is comfortable managing/mentoring a small finance team.
