Multi Skilled Engineer (Sites Services)
Hours 4 on 4 off rotating Days and Nights
We are currently looking to recruit a full time permanent Sites Services Engineer at our Wisbech site. Reporting to the Site Services Manager this role will have responsibility for safely maintaining and operating the effluent treatment plant, steam raising plant and ensuring an unfettered supply of site utilities to the manufacturing environment whilst ensuring the site operates within its environmental consent limits.

Wisbech is home to our food production site in Cambridgeshire. It is where we produce our canned products including baked beans, soups, pulses, and pasta.
This role is part of a team which will have responsibility for proactively managing asset care to ensure that equipment performance is optimised. The role makes a positive contribution to planning and executing all asset care activity on shift.
Plays a proactive role in the asset care element of the Engineering function on shift, to help the site achieve optimal operational efficiency at lowest cost through the delivery of targets against the strategic objectives of the Group Supply function.
Work closely with the Shift Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality leaders and peer groups and Site Asset care Planner to support the delivery of an agreed Group Asset Care Strategy for the site.
Ensure proactive response to maintenance and breakdowns on site ensuring continuity of production and services.
To carry out maintenance activities, ensuring the manufacturing team achieve maximum compliance to the production plan, by minimising engineering downtime.
Moving the maintenance strategy from a fire fighting mentality to a proactive approach.
Identify the root cause, records actions taken to correct fault and up date Planned Maintenance system.
To openly share knowledge within team to increase the department flexibility.
To improve the performance and efficiency of the existing plant through continuous improvement techniques.
Be able to communicate effectively and confidently to all levels of colleagues within Princes and be capable of maintaining professional communication with clients, suppliers, contractors and customers outside the business. Ensuring both verbal and written shift handovers are carried effectively.
Contribute to and help implement continuous improvement, to enhance quality, safety, efficiency and waste reduction.
Engineering activities in a food manufacturing environment
Knowledge of Steam raising boiler equipment
Knowledge of how pneumatic systems work
Knowledge of how electrical distribution systems work
Knowledge of soft water systems
Knowledge of Legionella control
Advanced mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
Demonstrable knowledge of relevant CI techniques
Working with CMMS - Preferably SAP
Proven Multi-skilled engineering experience - Mechanical & Electrical
5+ years hands-on experience of equipment in a food manufacturing environment preferably site services
Ability to read & understand technical manuals and engineering drawings
Ability to read and use both imperial and metric systems
Good PC skills.
Experience of high speed can handling equipment
Experience of working in a site services environment
Food Safety qualification desirable
Ability to interface with common PLC's would be
Health & Safety qualification desirable
Confined space experience
Knowledge of SCADA systems
