Your new role

We require a highly professional and energetic marketing professional, expert in delivering reputation enhancing marketing activities across traditional and digital marketing platforms.

The role is fast-paced, with high expectations of achieving measurable success in supporting client conversations, brand awareness and revenue generation..

As a small consultancy company, we are looking for someone who has been in a standalone Marketing Manager role or ready to step up to a standalone Marketing Manager position. In this role, you will be working with industry professionals on all aspects of strategy, brand development and content-led campaigns. This role is suited to someone who is confident to work on their own and has the skills to excel in marketing the business, drawing-in and working on, key campaigns and activities relevant to Industry Forum.

Key Objectives

  • Responsible for managing the delivery of all marketing activity relating to each aspect to the campaigns, aligning with others to execute events, marketing communications and our online presence across various digital platforms.

  • Liaising with industry trade bodies and other outside parties, in proactively finding platforms such as conferences, working groups, research projects and other opportunities for us to raise our profile within the industry.

  • Challenge traditional marketing techniques and embracing technology and cutting-edge approaches to drive connectivity with our client base.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Update and implement marketing plans
  • Organise and attend marketing activities / events to raise brand awareness
  • Plan advertising and promotional campaigns for products or services on a variety of media (social, print etc.)
  • Maintain the Industry Forum website and digital communications
  • Provide market intelligence and competitor analysis.
  • Develop and maintain Industry Forum marketing materials.
  • Ensure that a strong IF visual brand is created and conveyed at all times.
  • Manage contact and account data in SalesForce
  • Liaise with stakeholders to promote success of activities and enhance the company's presence
  • See all ventures through to completion and evaluate their success using various metrics

  • Support development of web based services delivery
  • Support and help development of publications sales
  • Prepare content for the publication of marketing material and oversee distribution
  • Support the commercial team in undertaking research to identify opportunities for promotion and growth into new sectors
  • Own and develop all marketing processes within the business, including the measurement and reporting of all Key Performance Indicators.
  • Collaborate with managers and feed into the preparation of budgets and monitoring of marketing costs
  • Support events and publications as standalone revenue streams
  • Maintains the department's budget and ensures all marketing activities are cost-effective
  • Adheres to and implements all company policies and procedures

  • At least 3 years' experience as marketing officer/executive or similar, in a B2B/technical sector
  • Solid knowledge of marketing techniques and principles
  • Good understanding of market research techniques, statistical and data analysis methods
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and marketing CRM (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Experience in management of social media channels
  • Experience of web analytics (e.g. Google Analytics)
  • Excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Creativity and commercial awareness
  • A team player with a customer-oriented approach
  • BSc/BA in marketing, business administration or relevant field or appropriate CIM qualification

This role is based at the Birmingham Business Park by the NEC and Birmingham Airport. There is the potential to work from home a couple of days a week but this is not guaranteed. We are following the Government Guidelines and at present our employees are working remotely.
