Are you an experienced Financial Administrator within a wealth management firm, or a recent graduate looking to take your first steps into the world of wealth management? Do you have a keen eye for detail and are eager to learn and progress with a structured career plan? My client, is an Independent Financial Advisor (IFA) near Alton in Hampshire who have been operating for over 15 years. They have an excellent reputation in the local area for providing solid financial advice to local families across a full spectrum of products. This firm holds chartered status and have a large book of clients who are City professionals, local families, and some business owners. This medium sized firm is well established with 10+ Advisers and a full administrative team behind them overseen by an Operations/Business Manager. Due to a very successful past few months, the Advisers are looking to take on new Administrators who they can train up mould into paraplanners in the near future. Cultural fit and a willingness to learn is vital for this firm. So you must have an excellent attitude, a desire to learn and ambitions to forge a career in financial advice.

What you will be doing?

You will be working on all reasonable administrative duties to begin with, including preparing meeting packs for clients, basic product research, drafting letter for paraplanners and generally overseeing the administrative process. However, you will be shadowing the current paraplanners and support them in the technical aspects of paraplanning. You will get an opportunity to learn about the production of reports and letters for clients, undertaking analysis of clients' needs and wants and helping the Advisers recommend the best course of action. You will get the opportunity to sit in on the occasional client meeting and take notes for the Adviser ready for post-meeting reviews with the client. This role will be suitable for a graduate who has a year in industry as part of your degree or 1 years' worth of relevant experience post your degree or equivalent studies. If you are studying for your CII or CISI exams then you will be actively supporting in your exams. All current staff have undergone and passed these exams so practical and theoretical support will be given to aid your development. Once you pass certain exams you will be able to sit down with the Advisers and a plan will be put together to discuss new areas of work you can get involved with.
