PURPOSE OF ROLE:

Our Product team at ii is split into 3 parts: Product Analysis, Product Management and UX Design. All equally important in ensuring that we're going in the right direction, building the right thing and in a way that is customer and data lead.

As a Product Analyst in our Product Team, you'll be taking a leading role in ensuring our Products are delivering meaningful value for our customers and business stakeholders.

You'll be owning and leading the delivery of roadmap items across a range of product areas and enterprise change projects; ensuring that we are building the right things in the right way and working closely with the Head of Product and Product Managers to ensure strategic alignment.

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the Product Managers and Technical Leads to influence and ensure we are maintaining the correct direction and delivering to plan.
  • Work with the Product Managers, Technical Leads, business stakeholders and other key individuals to define and document the initial ask for new change requests in the form of requirements catalogues, epics, user stories and other means, including both functional and non-functional requirements
  • Take the product lead analyst role on large roadmap items that form projects as well as enterprise change projects, taking on both business and systems analysis duties and following standard project governance processes and documentation. Work with Project Managers to help build out project plans and work with Product Managers and UX to help define customer journeys
  • Carry out detailed analysis of the business needs, requirements, impact, scope, risks, benefits and technical dependencies.
  • Own the analysis process including, the authoring of good quality user stories, which will contain, business requirements, API integration points, data and data mapping, acceptance criteria, and non-functional requirements.
  • Help architects shape requirements solutions and work with the test team to build out test strategies.
  • When working within a product workstream environment, align your product backlog(s) with strategic roadmaps taking lead from the product manager or other business owner. Work closely with the scrum masters and delivery leads to prioritise and refine the backlog whilst ensuring user stories are appropriately sized and estimated for your software delivery colleagues to take on.
  • Play an active role during refinement / planning in clarifying the requirements and defining the sub tasks that need to be carried out to deliver the story.
  • Measure the success and identified learnings of the changes you're working on - working closely with the Data team and Product managers to ensure that we're moving the business forwards in the right direction.
  • Work collaboratively with the UX designers to provide an understanding of the user stories to ensure designs are aligned and create seamless, usable and accessible user journeys
  • Provide business and technical answers to any questions or information required by the squads or projects in a timely manner
  • Work collaboratively with SME's to define the problem space including any security or regulatory considerations.
  • Become the delivery teams SME on key processes, applications, and platforms. Rapidly gain the knowledge to become the focal point for any technical/business analysis that the squad needs.
  • Ensure business readiness of changes being delivered, including business process mapping and customer service training
  • Demonstration of new functionality or change impacts to key stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of upcoming changes and gather feedback.
  • Using platform subject matter expertise, provide analysis and support for live issues and incidents, working with other support teams towards a speedy resolution.
  • Support Product Managers during discovery work, providing elements of the technology context to help build business justification cases for new opportunities, including contributing to any assessment of potential 3rd party solution providers
  • 5+ year's experience working as part of a multi discipline team working with members from UX, analysis and engineering, demonstrating high impact performance of initiatives.
  • Experience working in both Offline and Online customer journeys
  • Has worked across a vast range of products that get used by in-house users and customers.
  • An excellent communicator - happy to communicate with their squad team and stakeholders either in person, by phone or over email and finds the best form of communication for the task at hand.
  • Has a bias to action - does not hide behind their desk and gets out and about across the business. You take it on yourself to ensure that the right things get done.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Essential
  • 5+ year's experience working as part of a multi discipline team working with members from UX, analysis and engineering, demonstrating high impact performance of initiatives.
  • Experience working in both Offline and Online customer journeys
  • Has worked across a vast range of products that get used by in-house users and customers.
  • An excellent communicator - happy to communicate with their squad team and stakeholders either in person, by phone or over email and finds the best form of communication for the task at hand.
  • Has a bias to action - does not hide behind their desk and gets out and about across the business. You take it on yourself to ensure that the right things get done.
  • Pro-active, personable and social - can forge relationships with colleagues both within the office and those across other offices
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and applicable experience
  • Can demonstrate a user centred approach and can demonstrate that the right balance is made between building the right thing, building it right and building it fast enough
  • Proven ability to analyse systems from a business and technical perspective and document any processes.
  • Demonstratable ability to seek out and find the information needed to support the goals of the team, irrespective of whether they have any applicable background of prior knowledge of the problem space or platform.
  • Ability to write concise and detailed user stories with acceptance criteria
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies, frameworks, as well as Waterfall.
  • Previous experience of collaborating with or within an agile/scrum team
  • Ability to prioritise work effectively
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Highly organised with a great attention to detail
  • Ability to discuss and explain complete issues to all levels
  • A strong knowledge of software development processes and procedures, including BDD, TDD principles and continuous integration and web/mobile technologies.
  • Desirable
  • Investment industry experience, either having worked in, or has invested themselves
  • Jira/Confluence experience
  • An understanding of our core systems such as JHC Figaro
  • Knowledge of funnel optimisation, CRO techniques and service design principles
  • Comfortable performing independent quant and qual based research
  • Able to work closely with UX to facilitate and plan UX research sessions
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and how to get the best outcome whilst working closely with a team
