Job Details

This is a Senior Project Engineer role within the Delivery function covering Cloud & Server

They key deliverables of this role include:

Project Delivery

Creation of cloud / server solutions (physical and virtual / cloud) designs based upon client requirements. Creation of implementation and test plans for delivery. Implementation of network solutions with post implementation support. Handover of project delivery to Service Desk and, where required, training of Service Desk Analysts.

Service Desk

Act as 3rd Line escalation point for Service Desk incident tickets. Investigation and resolution of allocated Incident Tickets and Event Notifications with agreed client Incident Categorisations with associated Service Level Agreements.

Pre-Sales

Support the Pre-Sales team, as required, with proposed solution designs within Commercial Proposals for server / hosting solutions that meet client enquiry requirements.

ContracCloud

ContracCloud is Contrac's private hosting platform. The role requires supporting the strategic development, implementation, testing, monitoring and management of the platform. This includes, but is not limited to, operational stability, server patching, backup, event management and availability management.

The role is predominantly office based within standard working hours, with travel to other Contrac offices and Customer sites will be required. Out of hours working may also be required during out of hours deliveries and escalated 3rd Line tickets.

Qualifications

Required:
  • MCSE / Server+ or equivalent experience

Desired:
  • MCSP or equivalent experience

Bonus:
  • CCNA or Network+ or equivalent experience
  • VMware VCP or equivalent experience
  • Any Cloud fundamentals Azure / AWS / Google


Knowledge
  • Microsoft OS / Linux OS (bonus)
  • Hyper V / VMware / XEN Server (bonus) / Nutanix (bonus)
  • General Network understanding to CCNA / Network + standard.
  • Azure / AWS / GOOGLE Cloud (all a bonus)
  • M365 suite / G suite / AWS Workspace (bonus)
  • Exchange / Exchange online
  • Mimecast / Barracuda Mail Protection solutions
  • Firewall understanding
  • MS roles Active Directory / DNS / Group Policy / DFS / F+P / DHCP
  • Backup solutions Cloud and on prem
  • Storage Solutions Cloud / NAS / SAN / Attached storage
  • Hardware Laptop / PC / Server / Storage array / Racking
  • VPN and LAN to LAN understanding
  • End point protection / Anti-virus


Skills
  • Client facing role 1st / 2nd Line experience 1- 2 years
  • At least 4 years in a Server Engineer / Support role / Field Engineer
  • Ideally having worked with multiple solutions at once
  • Dealt with users of all levels
  • Proactive attitude and good prioritising skills
  • Motivated learner, who can up skill quickly
  • Adaptable attitude to meet ever changing environment and challenges


Experience

Salary

£28,000 - £35,000 per annum
