As a DevOps engineer here at Callsign, you will help transform and improve our DevOps capabilities, as well as ensure that all products, services and projects are designed, delivered and supported according to business requirements. You will ensure that Callsign's services both our internally critical and our externally-visible systems have reliability and uptime appropriate to users' needs and a fast rate of improvement while keeping an ever-watchful eye on capacity and performance.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, both technical and non-technical
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, dynamic environment
  • Confidence in grasping, maintaining and debugging/troubleshooting systems and code developed by others
  • Ability to think outside the box and find innovative solutions to complex problems
RequirementsRequirementsMinimum Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a DevOps/SRE or equivalent
  • Proficient in one or more of the following programming languages Python, Go, Java, Kotlin and shell scripting
  • Solid understanding of *nix operating systems and at least on of Linux flavors (RHEL-based, Debian-based, CoreOS, Bottlerocket)
  • Experience of building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Gitlabs, Jenkins, CircleCI or similar
  • Proficient in deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters
  • Extensive knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP or Azure)
  • Infrastructure as Code / Automation / Configuration Management experience (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Helm, Kustomize)
  • Solid understanding of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, AlertManager, Grafana, NewRelic, DataDog
  • Experience with ELK stack and Fluentd
  • Join the on-call rota to resolve production incidents in a timely manner. On-call shifts are compensated separately
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in design, analysis and architecture of large-scale distributed systems
  • Experience with Kafka, Cassandra or Istio
  • Experience with Linux internals and administration (e.g. filesystems, system calls, capabilities(7), Seccomp/AppArmor) or networking (e.g. TCP/IP, routing, network topologies)
  • Experience with at least one SQL flavor (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, et al.)
  • Experience with GRPC/Protobuf
  • Previous experience as a Software Engineer
