As a DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer, you will work together with product teams and deliver highly scalable infrastructure and pipelines. This is a critical and varied role, using a wide range of technologies, combining strategic work with short-term tactical fixes and improvements

The Role
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines for product teams with focus on high cadence and cost effectiveness
  • Work with the team to define & implement appropriate infrastructure to meet business requirements
  • Automate and manage our Citrix virtual desktop solutions
  • Help to support our products at all points in lifecycle
  • Develop Infrastructure as code using ARM, Terraform & Pulumi
  • Share knowledge across teams
  • Create and maintain dashboards and monitors

The Requirements

The essential skills/experience for this position are:
  • Experience administering CI systems, creating build configurations and pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps (VSTS/TFS), NuGet, MSBuild
  • Experience administering version control systems such as Git (Azure DevOps)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft .NET development environment, Visual Studio
  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell)
  • Experience of cloud technologies (primarily Azure or AWS), in areas such as networking, storage, integration, compute and analytics
  • Autonomy, attention to detail, commitment to high-quality, ability to learn quickly and to innovate
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including providing simple solutions to complex situations
  • Strong team player with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively

Other highly desirable, but not essential skills are:
  • Experience of building and managing virtual desktop solutions (Citrix)
  • Experience of using configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible etc.)
  • Understanding of network topologies and common network protocols and services
  • Software development skills using C# .NET
  • Experience of Windows & Linux containers and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of security best practices and tools
  • MS Test or other unit testing frameworks, mocking framework
  • Experience of working in an Agile/Scrum environment
