We're currently in the middle of a really exciting period of growth here at Harbr. We've been around since 2017, but until May this year, we had been operating in stealth-mode while we focused on building the best product possible. In November 2020, 6 months after emerging from stealth, we announced our $38.5m Series A, led by Dawn Capital and Tiger Global. We've already started to onboard a series of exciting enterprise clients, and are looking to grow the team at lightning pace.

We feel we've achieved an incredible amount with a small team, and in 2021, the plan is to build a function that can genuinely impact the way the world shares and interacts with data. That's where you come in. We're looking to hire an Engineering Manager to lead a best-in-class application development team as we tackle an entirely new sector with our enterprise data exchange product.

We seek management candidates who have a track record of building high-functioning and creative teams that solve challenging problems together. Candidates should have a knack for refining processes iteratively, and be driven to build something better in each scenario they step into. RequirementsRole Responsibilities
  • Lead a high-performing, cross-functional team of engineers, including backend, frontend, devops, and QA.
  • Partner with technical leads and product management to effectively plan, design, and deliver features and platform improvements, end to end, from the roadmap
  • Serve as a main point of contact for your engineering team, facilitating collaboration between engineering and other teams in the business.
  • Grow and develop the team as the company evolves and scales, including ensuring mentorship, coaching, feedback, and effective hiring practices are built into the team's operations
  • Participate in shaping our development function, building an environment for technical expertise and excellent engineering
About you
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team of engineers, including direct experience with performance management and hiring practices
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with product and engineering leadership to translate product objectives to delivery strategy, and ensure priorities and expectations are aligned and realistic
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated comfort with remote communication culture
  • Experience developing and evolving core engineering standards and development processes to reflect a scaling team
