Financial Controller - Series A, high growth FinTech Startup

£70-85K



High growth Fintech which has rapidly grown to circa 100 heads despite being launched just 3 years ago. Their leading digital payment and money transfer product have now been launched in multiple international markets and supports services into a large number of developing markets. Having completed a £10M+ Series A fundraise, they are now backed by some of the leading VCs to support their future growth.

The role

The Financial Controller will report to the COO and will be tasked with ensuring they have best in class finance, reporting and controls in place as they scale, and lead the development of a small but growing finance team. It will also play a pivotal role in supporting their launch in to new international markets.

  • Lead all financial and management reporting including reviewing and ultimately signing off monthly close process for the group
  • Ensure all regulatory reporting requirements are met - monthly capital reports, UK and International regulatory reporting, and safeguarding reports and processes
  • Key finance contact for external relationships - investors, lenders etc - responding to any requests and compliance matters
  • Responsible for audit process and all Tax filing
  • Manage relationships with external accounting firm and Tax advisors both in the UK and in international markets; develop new relationships when entering new markets
  • Project manage implementation of new accounting system


Skills & Experience

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or Equivalent) with post qualified experience in a relevant position

• Finance reporting/Controllership experience ideally in a high growth startup/scaleup

• FinTech experience advantageous

• Having trained in an Accounting Practice preferred

• Experience in a high volume, multi-currency transactional environment

• Technical accountant with strong IFRS, USGAAP, UKGAAP knowledge

• Experience hiring and leading teams

• Ability to work in a resource scarce environment managing a range of varying priorities
