Due to an exciting phase of growth we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our busy Engineering team based in Cambridge.

The role

To provide Mechanical design input into New Engineering Request projects. This includes completing research, analysing problems and providing solutions by contributing to design, development, prototyping, qualification and launch of new product offerings. A good understanding of electronics would be a distinct advantage.

Key Responsibilities

· Completing New Engineering Request tasks as assigned by the Lead Systems Engineer

· Producing CAD models and drawings to a high standard

· Managing New Engineering Request project tasks as assigned, reporting on project progress to Lead Systems Engineer / Engineering Manager

· Management of product configurations using DDM

· Contributing to Engineering review meetings

· Providing technical expertise in the development of new products



Qualification and experience

Whilst a Degree is desirable, it is not a requirement for this role. Relevant workplace experience will count more and be viewed favourably.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years' experience, gained within a similar role.

Essential:

· A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role

· Good written and verbal communication skills

· Competent in the use of 3D design software (preferably with strong familiarisation with SolidWorks / Creo)

· Ability to clearly communicate or illustrate technical ideas

Desirable:

· A good understanding of electronics / electrical design

· Familiarity with relevant industry standards (IP ratings, ATEX, etc.)

· Hands on experience in the assembly of prototypes and subsequent testing

· A Degree or other qualification in a relevant subject
