Renewable Energy Fund - Financial Controller - London

Job Summary:

An opportunity for a senior fund accountant or financial controller to join a globally renowned renewables platform who specialise in utility-scale renewable energy projects globally. The fund are fully focused on delivering essential energy transition projects on a mass scale across Europe, the US & APAC.

The Firm:

The fund have a global reach with offices in London, the US & Australia and have a unique position in the utility-scale renewables market where they have clear visibility on multi-year global capital deployment due to their strategic RoFo agreements in place. As they prepare to raise their next fund, they're looking for a financial controller to lead on finances globally.

The Role:

The role is to be the Financial Controller and lead on all day to day finance related matters. All fund administration will be outsourced to a global provider, with the financial controller being responsible for the selection of administrator and for overseeing the deliver of their services.

Role responsibilities include;
  • Maintain Manager and Fund cash flow projections and manage liquidity requirements
  • Manage the Fund credit lines and hedging facilities and relationships with the relevant financial institutions
  • Undertake the management fee calculations
  • Review all tax related matters, both domestic and cross-border issues at the Manager and Fund level
  • Undertake the Fund structuring work to include other domicilies outside of the UK, such as Luxembourg, working with host AIFM providers where required
  • Manage the Regulatory & Tax Compliance requirements at the Fund and project/local jurisdictional level
  • Manage the annual Project Valuation process
  • Selection and implementation of appropriate accounting software
  • Ad hoc project work

The Candidate:

The candidate must possess strong process management skills, an ability to prioritise and react quickly to dynamic demands from stakeholders across the firm alongside;

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant with 6-10 years PQE experience in-house within a fund business
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject
  • An international outlook, good operational understanding of offshore fund and investment holding structures and prior exposure to cross border holding structures
  • Be a strong team player who shares the company's cultural values
  • Be highly motivated, with a versatile personality and outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage manage multiple workstreams and act on own initiative
