Quant Developer: Java, SQL, Scala: Quant Risk - Hedge Fund

London To £120k + Bonus + Benefits

Successful Hedge Fund is looking for a specialist Java Developer with Scala knowledge to work directly with the Quants on a key market risk framework involving the understanding and implementation of complex mathematical models. You will work on the architecture, design and coding of the platform requiring knowledge of risk models, implementing solutions in Java and SQL with knowledge of Scala and/or C# helpful for interoperability with other applications and feeds. As this is a business facing role then you will require excellent communication skills with experience of working with the front office (Quant research and Trading) in a similar firm ie Hedge Fund, Fund Manager or potentially Investment bank.

Dealing with primarily back-end utilising microservices architecture, Spring Boot, ideally Azure and/or AWS experience as their new platforms have a considerable cloud component including containers for DevOps. Knowledge of front end (Javascript, React, Angular) is useful to appreciate the full stack but this is not a primary requirement. The development environment is Agile so experience of TDD and Continuous Integration would be beneficial. This is a successful, profitable firm with constant investment in IT to further the business.
