VBA, or Python Coder to learnTrade Support within a Trading Fintech

FJR Finance are representing a City based, global Brokerage to hire an Equities & Derivatives Trade Support Analyst. This is such a great opportunity to work at a really innovative and cutting-edge Fintech. Our client have created a new Fintech division/ company within their existing organisation that provides multi-asset class, Investment Banking Fintech solutions.

Our client is looking for someone with a minimum of 6-month's year's Financial Services experience within Operations i.e. Trade Support, or Settlements who is highly driven and is able to be part of a cutting-edge and growing business. Key highlights:

  • The company started x 4-years ago and have doubled their profits YoY: creating huge growth opportunities and hiring across all areas including Front Office, Technology, Operations & Compliance etc.
  • As the Front-end trading activities continually increase, our client is looking to increase and solidify their infrastructure and are hiring within their Trade Support team.


The global multi-asset class Trade Support team support trading for global Institutional clients such s Hedge Funds, Investment Banks, Commodity houses, end-users of Commodities - a real broad spectrum of clients. The role reports directly into their Head of Operations and works within a small team of x 5 and sits next to the Sales and Trading teams. You will be required to come into the offices for the first few months, to meet your team, learn the role to a high standard and then our client offers flexible working-from-home/ in the office hybrid mix. Our client is looking for someone with a very strong work ethic, who is able to cope working within a pressurised Trading environment. The working hours can be long, because the business is still in huge growth mode, the work-load and project work-load is always high, so this is something you need full commitment from.

Our client also trades a varied selection of different Asset Classes such as Equities, Equity Derivatives, Equity Options, FX Options, Structured Notes, Structured Products, OTC Commodities (a full range of Commodities).

They continue to build out their Operational infrastructure and have a large IT/ Tech development team that are building not only their Trading systems, App technology, but also their Middle Office Trade-Booking and also Back-Office Settlements system. Our client needs someone who has got some proven VBA and Python programming/ coding experience, or just VBA (VBA is the most important out of the two), or at the very least proven Advanced-Level Excel, with the ability to write Macros and the genuine ability to self-teach VBA and Python (whilst on the job).

Our client's Trade Support team need the VBA/ coding experience because they uses these programs to extract and manipulate large data sets, but also for internal systems to connect with each other and also to improve and automate processes. Our client is looking for someone who not only has great attention to detail, but also have a challenging and problem-solving/ solutions mind-set. For example, "I will improve this process" and for this attitude to be an inherent quality in the hire. Due to the size of the company, you will be given huge autonomy to think for yourself and also be given the chance to make your own decision that affect your role (with no layers of corporate management that you get at a larger Investment Bank).

In terms of personal attributes, you will be resilient and detailed, able to thrive and focus under pressure. Your written and verbal communication skills will be advanced, allied to an entrepreneurial outlook.

Salary



Between £35 k pa - £50 k pa, dependent upon experience, plus bonus, pension, healthcare etc.
