Job Details

Urban Automotive Ltd is a fast paced vehicle modifier & independant reseller of new and used vehicles requiring a Senior Financial Controller to join a close knit team. Ideally with experience of the motor industry to support our existing Accounts Department.

Current accounting processes are fulfilled using Quickbooks Online, with the company planning a migration in the coming months to a Dealer Management System (DMS) which will output to Sage Accounting Package.

We are looking for an experienced professional that feels he/she can be the focal point of our existing team, adding value and efficiency to the ongoing growth of the company. Delivering excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic and the will to progress by pro-actively looking for new challenges within the role.

Responsibilities of the position are as follows :

Senior Duties :
  • Reporting into the company owners and group FD
  • Manage the (onboarding and offboarding of vehicles) on the companies stocking facilities
  • Create monthly financial reports required for our suppliers and lenders
  • Monthly review of all management accounts
  • Oversee daily financial activities
  • Management of inter-company cross charges
  • Assisting FD with finance queries where required


Accounts Duties
  • Assisting accounts admin with daily queries
  • Overseeing payments in & out of the businesses
  • Invoice chasing, where required
  • Qualifying part exchange vehicle costs & assigning associated contra payments
  • Resolving payment and contra queries
  • Assisting Accounts Admin when required with any queries around bills or payments
  • Check and oversee all refunds are processed
  • Make international payments
  • Reconciliation of associated costs to particular vehicles
  • Making Sure inter company (zero cost) transactions are accounted for correctly
  • Managing and Identifying errors, amending invoices where required
  • Managing and amending purchase orders for payments out if required
  • Month End management of unpaid invoices, moving them to the correct date and chasing payments from trade customers
  • Amending stock and levels where required from stock take
  • Ensuring all invoices, PO's for previous month are moved closed off for previous Month to enable FD to work on the Monthly accounts.
  • Trouble shooting for FD where stock vehicles / purchase orders are incorrectly categorised or set up incorrectly (margin scheme cars / VAT qualifying car etc)


Skills Required
  • Experience of Quickbooks
  • Experience of the motor Industry, a full understanding of margin scheme VAT
  • Experience with dealer management systems (not essential but beneficial)
  • Experience of Sage
  • Possess leadership skills


Salary
  • £35,000 - £40,000 (Depending on Experience)
  • Plus Holiday & Pension Contributions
  • 20 x days Holiday Allowance PA (+ Bank Holidays)
  • Full-time role
  • Laptop provided for remote/mobile working
