Synetec is searching for an enthusiastic, organised and self-motivated Junior Product Owner to join their evolving Scrum team.

Synetec design and develop bespoke software systems for multiple clients. Each project is unique, providing different opportunities and challenges.

This person will be contributing to the delivery of Bespoke Software, in conjunction with building the client relationship and resource schedule.

Internally, the Product Owner will represent the client's (external stakeholders') interests to the Scrum team, assisting in the product delivery, ensuring that the Scrum team meets the customer's needs as effectively as possible. This person will be managing Synetec smaller client projects and giving Product Owner and Product Testing support where needed.

Responsibilities
  • Gathering Product requirements from Senior PO or Client
  • Ensuring the team is focusing on the correct delivery items for each sprint
  • Contributing to the product roadmap
  • Assisting in story writing
  • Ensure all Scrum ceremonies are setup and managed efficiently, ensuring refinement sessions, daily standups, scrum meetings, end of Sprint demos and retrospectives have all been organised accordingly
  • Administer JIRA- setting up scrum boards, adding and removing users and setting up Sprints for example, and ensuring that it is kept up to date by other teams within the company
  • Acting as a source of information for development team, providing clarity and unblocking any blockers
  • Work with the team for release management
  • Understand client product and features
  • Manage (with Senior PO) customer backlog items
  • Draft release notes
  • Assist in weekly, monthly customer reports
  • Assist in weekly internal reports to be produced
  • Seek and identify opportunities to improve the Requirements Development process
  • Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends
  • Develop and maintain appropriate tracking and reporting of Scrum performance
  • Project Manage smaller client projects
  • Product Testing, when required
Requirements
  • 1 year + experience in Junior Product Owner role
  • Used Agile methodologies such as SCRUM
  • Performance-driven - creative, highly numerate, analytical and results-focused
  • Self-Starter - You take the initiative and do not wait to be told to act
  • Good Communicator - You have worked with remote teams before and can maintain an appropriate level of communication to ensure trust and confidence in your work
  • Knowledge Seeker - You stay abreast of industry trends and keep your skills current, you can adopt digital tools rapidly and with little effort
  • Adaptable- You are pragmatic and can work in a changeable environment, however, you do not blindly accept changes without question
  • In-depth understanding of the Agile (Scrum) methodology
  • Technical understanding of product development
  • Experience of devising/ writing user stories and administering the product roadmap, features and backlog
  • Previous experience in Product testing
  • Previous experience using Jira and Confluence
  • Ability to build strong relationships with peers
  • Experience in dealing with clients (written and verbal communication)
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects remotely
  • Flexibility on working with different clients projects
  • Willingness to travel (based at client sites or travel to client sites)
  • Excellent English language skills
  • A positive hands-on and "yes, we can" approach
