Associate, Investment Banking

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast growing small/mid cap investment bank in London, where you will have the chance to assist in the analysis of potential origination targets and the execution of live transactions. You will be working closely with senior bankers and brokers to support corporate clients across key sectors and services.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Act as a day-to-day point of contact with corporate clients, providing regulatory and strategic public market advice
  • Support on the structuring and execution of transactions on behalf of corporate clients including IPOs, secondary fundraisings and M&A.
  • Responsibilities include conducting due diligence on the industry and company, valuation analysis, preparing marketing materials, drafting transactional documentation and announcements and ensuring a high standard of record-keeping
  • Assist with/oversee client take-on, including appropriate due diligence measures and associated record keeping
  • Work with the Private Fund Raising team to help early-stage and growth companies scale up through M&A or private fundraises
  • Manage and assist with the preparation of financial models and business valuations, including using DCF, merger and LBO models
  • Assist in origination efforts through preparing marketing materials/pitches to prospective new clients
  • Oversee work of analysts and interns assigned to specific projects
  • Keep various data sources up to date including CRM (SingleTrack)


Person Spec:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent)/qualified lawyer/2 years+ post-graduate experience (ideally gained within financial services)
  • An understanding of equity capital markets, corporate finance transaction experience
  • Knowledge of general accounting, valuation and finance principles
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skillset
  • Demonstrated working experience of MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint in particular), market data services (e.g. Thomson Reuters Eikon, Bloomberg), investor and fund databases
  • Ability to translate and display information in a clear fashion
  • Collaborative approach and proven ability to work as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and a desire to work hard to achieve the highest standards of performance in high pressure situations
  • Exceptional communication skills and dedication to client service
