I am working on a unique role with the opportunity to join a new business that has doubled in size in the last year. This is a recently Private Equity backed Marketing Agency with a fast-paced buy & build strategy in place and multiple acquisitions on the horizon. They are looking for someone with a strong technical skillset to support with consolidations, acquisition accounting and stat accounts. You will need to be able to travel to Bournemouth a minimum of 3 days per week. It is an exceptional opportunity to get a foot in with business that is going to continue to grow exponentially.

You will be doing:
  • Ownership of the Group finance function and responsible for all financial reporting
  • Liaison with subsidiary finance managers to obtain monthly financial results and prepare group consolidation (including adding in acquired entities and acquisition accounting) for monthly management accounts and year end statutory accounts
  • Drafting finance section of monthly Board pack
  • Accounting for four holding companies including VAT returns and management recharges
  • Monthly cash flow reporting and forecasting and group cash management
  • Group audit coordination
  • Working with auditors in preparation and review of Consolidated Group and subsidiary Statutory Accounts
  • Management of UK tax compliance to include VAT, PAYE/NI, and working with Corporate tax advisors to prepare corporation tax returns, accounting and disclosures
  • Liaison with company secretary and similar advisors on all company secretarial matters
  • Bank reporting (monthly, quarterly, covenants)
  • Investor reporting (monthly, quarterly)
  • Regulatory reporting and regulatory compliance
  • Supporting the budget and forecasting processes (as required)
  • Owning or supporting the development and integrity of accounting system and any related finance system development
  • implementing robust financial processes and controls to ensure strong financial governance
  • Ad hoc financial and continuous improvement projects as required

You will need:
  • Ability to work in a high growth and fast paced environment and comfortable with working to tight deadlines
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
  • UK GAAP expertise
  • Strong excel skills
  • Experience with acquisition accounting
  • Experience with group structures and consolidations
  • Experience and understanding of accounting systems
  • Experience working in a PE-backed SME business with associated lender/debt covenant reporting desirable
  • Experience in preparation of annual statutory financial statements
  • Good understanding of corporation tax, PAYE, VAT
