Role: Senior Commercial Analyst (energy / utilities)

Location: Homebased/Surrey x3 days per week

Salary: £55,000 + 20% Bonus + excellent bens package


An exciting new role working for an international retail energy supplier for a Senior Commercial Analyst to identify new product opportunities and propositions, develop business cases and then deliver into the business and monitor performance. You will also own the commercial bid management process, ensuring bids are delivered to agreed commercial strategy. You will be a major contributor to sales margin across both the SME and Major business sectors and mitigate risk through innovation to ensure consistent delivery of strong financial performance. Key responsibilities:
  • Identifying new opportunities and developing business cases
  • Developing new propositions and owning their delivery into the business
  • Ongoing product management and monitoring performance
  • Owning the commercial bid management process, ensuring bids are delivered to agreed commercial strategy
  • Influencing the overall commercial strategy
  • Act as a key commercial decision maker on high profile tenders
  • Calculate end-to-end value of a deal and calculate expected P&L based on risks
  • analysis of customer base identifying next best actions and work with sales to implement
  • Monitor segment level profitability & risk identifying strategies to reduce risk and grow margins
  • Review external market trends to ensure the business product suite is market leading
  • Leverage market information and insight to form a view of customer needs and market trends
  • Form logical arguments and develop business cases for product and proposition opportunities
  • Manage multiple stakeholders and lead virtual teams to deliver projects from end to end

Skills and experience required:
  • Experience of building business cases and forming logical arguments based on insight
  • Experience of leading virtual teams
  • Experience of delivering projects successfully with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated customer focus in previous roles
  • Experience of developing new propositions based on customer needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Experienced in data analysis and reporting. As well as strong analytical problem-solving skills.
