Our client, a leading Yorkshire/Derbyshire law firm, are looking to recruit an experienced Corporate/Commercial Solicitor to lead their team. This role has been created due to expansion at the firm and will be predominantly based from the Sheffield office, although some flexibility may be available.

If you are an experienced and ambitious Solicitor who would like to add real value and lead a team within a supportive and progressive regional firm this could be the right role for you. The firm in question have long-standing relationships with a wide variety of clients with repeat business occurring across many departments.

The Role

You will undertake your own caseload of Corporate/Commercial Law cases including (but not limited to) mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships/insolvency matters, company formations, shareholder resolutions and agreements, amendments to share rights, terms and conditions of business and other commercial agreements;
You will lead the team and advise and assist others in your department with their caseloads, acting as a mentor to them when needed. The firm will support you fully in this role and offer any additional support that is required;
You will business develop on behalf of the firm and department and meet with potential new clients and intermediaries with the aim of continuing business growth;
You will meet with intermediaries and third parties such as lenders and accountants to progress your clients cases; and
You will draft a wide variety of legal documentation in order to progress your client's case and negotiate these documents where necessary.
The Person

You will ideally have at least 5 years PQE gained as a Corporate/Commercial Solicitor;
You will be a motivated and ambitious candidate with commercial drive, who is keen to lead the team forward and grow and develop the department;
You will be able to work in an often fast paced working environment;
You will have a professional attitude towards your work and be able to build long lasting relationships and rapport with a wide range of clients that include large corporate clients, SME's, entrepreneurs and high net worth individuals;
You will have excellent drafting and negotiation skills;
You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be committed to the principle of client care;
You will have good IT skills and be confident with a number of IT packages; and
You will have good legal research skills and keep updated with all relevant caselaw and legislation.
